Terms of Service — Loaf Budget

By creating an account or using Loaf Budget ("the app"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. The service

Loaf Budget is a personal budgeting tool that helps you model and understand your daily cost of living. It is provided for personal, informational use.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required where you live) to use the app. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Sign-in is available via Apple, Google, or email.

3. Your data and content

You own the budgeting data you enter. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store, process, and sync that data to provide the app to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export or delete your data at any time; deleting your account permanently removes your data.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misuse or interfere with the app or its security; attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours; reverse-engineer or disrupt the service except as permitted by law; or use the app for any unlawful purpose.

5. Not financial advice

Loaf Budget is a budgeting and informational tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and nothing in the app should be relied on as such. The figures it shows (including the "daily cost of living" and projections) are estimates based on the data you enter. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Consider consulting a qualified professional.

6. AI-assisted features

The app can use AI to interpret a spend you describe in words or speech and turn it into a structured entry. This interpretation can be wrong — it may misread an amount, date, or category. AI-suggested spends are surfaced for you to review, and you are responsible for checking them before relying on them. See the Privacy Policy for what is sent to our AI provider and when.

7. Service "as is"

The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of calculations. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will always be available, though we take reasonable care to protect it.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for any financial loss, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Effective date" and, for material changes, provide notice within the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
